GBS offers a range of timber windows that can be tailored in style to suit individual properties, including traditional flush casement, standard storm, HP storm, HP flush casement, and double-hung sliding sash windows.

All our timber windows are produced to meet today’s efficiency standards. Our double glazed timber windows use highly efficient Planitherm low E glass coatings, together with Argon or Krypton gas fill and warm edge spacer bars.
Furniture in a choice of styles and finishes, including fitch fasteners, finger lifts, and sash eyes with hook and pole, adds to the fine finish of our timber windows. Restrictors and security locks are also fitted for peace of mind and to help meet insurance requirements.
Our timber windows are factory paint finished using an industry-developed low-maintenance coating system created specifically for timber, with any colour or dual-colour finish available.

Casement timber windows are a popular choice for traditional properties such as estate cottages.
Whether plain, cottage bar or Georgian bar designs, these timber windows add charm and character to your home for a new build or renovation project.
Combined with efficient double glazing and draught stripping, they deliver the performance expected from high-quality double glazed timber windows.

Sliding sash timber windows have been a familiar sight in homes for hundreds of years.
Our method of box construction has not changed from that seen in early joinery workshop manuals. Tongued together and incorporating traditional mouldings, glazing bars and sash horns, these timber windows are crafted to continue that traditional method with lasting quality.
Double draught stripping to sash edges supports the smooth running of the sashes, whether operating on new weights, cords and pulleys, or spiral balances.

Used within our double glazed timber windows, PLANITHERM uses advanced coating technology to capture warmth from natural daylight and help heat the home.

The advanced coating reflects heat back into the room, meaning less energy is needed to heat the home to the desired temperature.

PLANITHERM brought together with virtually any window frame (including Timber and Accoya) will achieve a Window Energy Rating (WER) of B and an A+ is much easier to reach.

PLANITHERM maximises the amount of natural light into the home, without the haze or tint effects associated with some older double glazed windows.

PLANITHERM helps to virtually eliminate internal condensation and reduce draughts and cold spots in and around windows.
All of the timber windows and doors at GBS Joinery incorporate Planitherm double glazing which offers the latest technology in its completely new generation of high-performance, soft coat low E (emissivity) glass. With warm edge spacer bars and argon gas, GBS can reduce cold edge bridging on all casement, box sash, or sliding sash windows.
Planitherm glass will ensure that your windows are more efficient in keeping your home warm & bright; it has been proven to offer THREE TIMES more efficiency than standard double glazing. Thermal glass coating provides our customers with the latest advancements, allowing them to reduce household costs by pushing them further toward the recommended energy-saving status.
As Europe’s leading energy-saving double-glazed glass provider, Planitherm is one of the highest quality products available on the window market. By reflecting radiated heat into the rooms in your home rather than letting it escape, your property will act as a much brighter and more welcoming environment for you and your family to enjoy. Both stylish and efficient, Planitherm can capture the natural daylight and allow it to pass through the glass.
The Results:
A more comfortable, lighter, brighter, warmer, and more energy-efficient home that saves you money on your monthly bills which are often costly, especially in the winter.
Thanks to Planitherm’s advanced thermal insulation, you get 3 times more efficiency than single-glazed windows. Not only that, these windows are at least 25% more efficient than most double-glazed windows.

Timber is a natural product and can be prone to defects, so we endeavour not only to source the best possible quality but also to address as many natural defects as possible during the manufacturing process. This attention to detail is part of what sets GBS apart as specialist timber windows manufacturers.
Factory painting of windows and doors by GBS uses a specialist industry-recognised microporous paint system designed specifically for timber windows and doors, providing long-lasting protection against weathering while helping resist cracking and flaking.
Maintenance and redecoration will be required throughout the life of the product at intervals of between 8 – 10 years for light colours, reduced to 5 – 8 years for dark colours depending on exposure and orientation.
It is advisable to wash down paintwork annually with a mild detergent and soft cloth to prevent the build up of dirt . Do not use any abrasive products.
When re-coating use only microporous paints, do not use traditional oil based paints or paints that will seal the surface.
