GBS offers bespoke timber doors made from engineered or modified timber, with a range of styles and mouldings tailored to suit individual properties.
All our Accoya doors are made from the finest sustainably sourced timber. Accoya is a stable and durable modified softwood, chosen for its long-term performance and reliability.
We combine today’s requirements for energy efficiency with modern performance, creating traditional doors and contemporary designs with carefully considered period details.
Decorative etched or stained glass, along with a range of furniture and finishes, can be specified to personalise our timber doors and enhance the final look.

Our Georgian and Victorian panel timber doors include four-panel and two-panel styles, designed to suit traditional homes and heritage-inspired projects.

Glazed traditional doors allow light to pour into hallways and living rooms while retaining the character and proportions of the property.

Boarded timber doors, particularly ledged and braced designs, are among the earliest traditional door styles, dating back to the Middle Ages. Today, these traditional doors have evolved into framed and filled constructions that offer greater stability for modern homes.
Boards are tongue and groove with either a simple “V” or a beaded edge.
Framed, ledged and braced options remain a timeless choice for character properties.

Used within glazed timber doors, PLANITHERM uses advanced coating technology to capture warmth from natural daylight and help improve comfort within the home.

The advanced coating reflects heat back into the room, meaning less energy is needed to heat the home to the desired temperature.

PLANITHERM brought together with virtually any window frame (including Timber and Accoya) will achieve a Window Energy Rating (WER) of B and an A+ is much easier to reach.

PLANITHERM maximises the amount of natural light into the home, without the haze or tint effects associated with some older double glazed windows.

PLANITHERM helps to virtually eliminate internal condensation and reduce draughts and cold spots in and around windows.
All of the timber windows and doors at GBS Joinery incorporate Planitherm double glazing which offers the latest technology in its completely new generation of high-performance, soft coat low E (emissivity) glass. With warm edge spacer bars and argon gas, GBS can reduce cold edge bridging on all casement, box sash, or sliding sash windows.
Planitherm glass will ensure that your windows are more efficient in keeping your home warm & bright; it has been proven to offer THREE TIMES more efficiency than standard double glazing. Thermal glass coating provides our customers with the latest advancements, allowing them to reduce household costs by pushing them further toward the recommended energy-saving status.
As Europe’s leading energy-saving double-glazed glass provider, Planitherm is one of the highest quality products available on the window market. By reflecting radiated heat into the rooms in your home rather than letting it escape, your property will act as a much brighter and more welcoming environment for you and your family to enjoy. Both stylish and efficient, Planitherm can capture the natural daylight and allow it to pass through the glass.
The Results:
A more comfortable, lighter, brighter, warmer, and more energy-efficient home that saves you money on your monthly bills which are often costly, especially in the winter.
Thanks to Planitherm’s advanced thermal insulation, you get 3 times more efficiency than single-glazed windows. Not only that, these windows are at least 25% more efficient than most double-glazed windows.

Timber is a natural product and can be prone to defects, so we not only source the best possible quality but also address as many natural defects as possible during the manufacturing process. This attention to detail helps define our work as trusted timber door manufacturers.
Factory painting of windows and doors by GBS uses a specialist industry-recognised microporous paint system designed specifically for timber doors and windows, providing long-lasting protection against weathering while helping resist cracking and flaking.
Maintenance and redecoration will be required throughout the life of the product at intervals of between 8 – 10 years for light colours, reduced to 5 – 8 years for dark colours depending on exposure and orientation.
It is advisable to wash down paintwork annually with a mild detergent and soft cloth to prevent the build up of dirt . Do not use any abrasive products.
When re-coating use only microporous paints, do not use traditional oil based paints or paints that will seal the surface.
