CASE STUDY: GRADE II LISTED BUILDING SECONDARY GLAZING SOLUTION - PEAK DISTRICT

Seamlessly Enhancing Comfort and Preserving Heritage in a Grade II Listed Peak District Home

To address heat loss, condensation and road noise, bespoke secondary glazing was installed in a Grade II listed Arts and Crafts home located within the Peak District National Park. The design incorporated acoustic glass within double-glazed units to reduce noise pollution, while a warm wood stain ensured the new units harmonized perfectly with the home’s Georgian-style aesthetic.

In compliance with the property’s listed status, the original single-glazed casement windows remained intact, and the secondary glazing design included easy access for cleaning the stone mullions and historic window frames.

Delighted with the results, the homeowners plan to install additional secondary glazing throughout the house to enhance comfort and functionality further.
